Cryobank

Cryobank

En Azul Fertility Experts, we continue to fulfill the dream of many women and couples of having a healthy baby at home, thanks to cutting-edge technology and high quality standards. Vitrification: Thanks to vitrification, today it is possible to conserve oocytes (own and from donors) and embryos without a time limit, keeping their characteristics unchanged. In this vitrification method, the drop in temperature is extremely rapid and prevents the formation of ice crystals that can break the cell membrane. In this way, a better preservation of the internal structures of the cells is achieved. The oocytes and embryos are loaded into special devices and immersed in liquid nitrogen at a temperature of -196 C for very short periods of time. These devices are stored in individual supports duly identified for each patient and are kept in liquid nitrogen tanks at the same temperature. Cryopreserved eggs can be thawed and fertilized in the laboratory and once the embryos are formed, they are transferred to the uterus for implantation. In turn, the vitrified embryos can be thawed and transferred to the patient when she wants to try a new pregnancy, without having to go through the entire process of ovarian stimulation and fertilization again. Today the success rate of vitrified embryos is exactly the same as that of fresh embryos.

Cryopreservation of Embryos and Blastocysts

This special freezing technology allows today's vitrified embryos to give exactly the same chances of success as those obtained with fresh treatments.

Without having to go through the entire process of ovarian stimulation and fertilization again, women and couples have a great opportunity to achieve their dream of becoming parents.

Semen Freezing

Semen freezing is a method that allows you to preserve your own and donor gametes. It is very useful in the following cases:

  • Patients who have to undergo treatments that can reduce or annul their fertility (testicle or prostate surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy).
  • Difficulty in obtaining the sample intended for assisted reproduction treatments, both for psychological reasons and for problems in going to the clinic.
  • Progressive deterioration of sperm quality due to known or unknown cause of the characteristics.
  • Oligoasthenozoospermias (semen with low sperm count and reduced mobility).
  • Prior to performing a vasectomy, in case you wish to be a father in the future.
  • Freeze donor samples

Procedure

Preparation

Before freezing, it will be necessary to determine the infectious risk of the samples, in this sense, tests for HIV, syphilis and hepatitis B and C are carried out by means of blood extraction.

Obtaining the sample

The patient will go personally to the clinic to deliver the semen sample. An abstinence of between 3 and 5 days is recommended.

Meta

The sample is analyzed in the laboratory and it is reported if it is enough or if it is necessary to deliver another sample to have a sufficient number of sperm.

Freezing

If the quality of the sample is optimal, the semen will be frozen. The sample is prepared with cryoprotectants and the temperature is lowered until it is stored in liquid nitrogen, at -196C.
